In her free time, Helen can be found reading a book or watching Doctor Who curled up with her dog, Pippin. Angélique (she/they) giddily joined the BRC in early 2022. A Massachusetts gal transplanted to the Upper Valley of Vermont with pets and a partner, Angélique supports identity-based student programming at Dartmouth College. In Community Engagement and are en route to becoming a Certified Holistic Sex Educator. Much of Angélique’s professional and volunteer work centers sexuality, gender, justice, and health. It was a roundabout way to learn that, if we truly believe everyone deserves a world in which they can thrive in their sexuality and gender, we must include ourselves.
No matter how little or big the amount, donating can start making a difference in the lives of young people around you. The STEM Career Fair was part of the BBBSCM MySTEM initiative . The mission of MySTEM is to provide children with enjoyable STEM engagement opportunities with a mentor to encourage self-esteem and confidence in their abilities. For teenagers we encourage exploration of STEM careers.
Dr Kavle has been a competitive sailor his entire life, starting in Ocean City, New Jersey. He sailed at Yale during his college years and was selected to sail on the Olympic Sailing Team for 1984 in Solings. He continues to race today in an International One Design. He has won the North American Championship for this class as skipper and has placed 2nd in the World Championships in Norway, Sweden and San Francisco as crew.

She is also the former Director of Operations of the nonprofit Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis. In her free time, Julie enjoys dog sitting, reading books of almost any genre, and crocheting and knitting varied items in the colors of the many queer pride flags. Seeing children grow and develop is the most rewarding part of a career in pediatrics. I have a special interest in assisting children with acute, chronic, and complex diagnoses reach their full potential. Providing education and guidance to families is an integral part of my practice.
What’s something you think people would be surprised to learn about you? Last, Dr Kavle is restoring a 1968 Chris Craft Motor boat to its former glory. This is a labor of love and so far has taken 3 years of stolen moments.

They’re still trying to figure out this wholeInstagram thing. If I wasn’t a pediatric nurse practitioner I would be a veterinarian. I worked at Higganum Veterinary clinic feeding the animals and helping my local vet for most of high school and part of college. My local vet took care of dogs and cats and specialized in exotic animals so I took care of all sorts of animals such as lizards, snakes, parrots and sometimes injured wild birds.

Jessica, “Belle” to her friends, is a nonprofit professional passionate about leaving her communities better than she found them. Her career started in ecology, where she discovered her love for categorizing invertebrates. She has developed expertise in a broad range of nonprofit management at a variety of organizations, both big and small.
Besides fishing the Farmington river he also fishes around the world, sometimes before and after sailing regattas. His next trip out of the country is scheduled for the Fall of 2023 when he will go to Mongolia to fish for Taimen, the worlds largest trout. He will also be involved in a medical mission during that trip to bring medical care to the children who live on the Mongolian plains who otherwise do not receive regular care.
Jessica is a nonprofit development specialist. She has recently become the first official staff member for BRC and is extremely passionate about nonprofit and community organizations. She holds a Master’s in Public Administration and a Certificate in Digital Marketing Analysis. Originally from Brooklyn, she moved to North Cambridge five years ago. Jess realized her bisexuality when she was a teen when a friend straight up asked her “Hey, are you bi? ” Since then, she has navigated the bi+ world on her own until 2017, when she first learned of BRC.

Since then, she’s taken over leading Young BLiSS, traveled to many conferences as a representative of the BRC, and started Bi+Mic, a now regularly occurring bi+ open mic in the Boston area. She also helped createUpland, a bi+ themed webcomic featuring dollhouse miniatures. Two characteristics Jessica seems to have plenty of. So much so, it’s hard to believe she’ll ever have to make a choice between The Litas and some other idea that doesn’t involve motorcycles. If it does, it may well be one that comes to her as she’s riding in a canyon somewhere on the 150 heading up to Evanston, Wyoming. Within a few months, Jessica had 50 women who belonged to The Litas original Salt Lake City branch.

The STEM Career Fair was hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Mass/Metrowest and the Girls CHOICE program at the YWCA in Worcester. BBBSCM matches adult volunteers with youth facing adversity to provide support, consistency and friendship. Girls in the Girls CHOICE program and teenage boys and girls participating in all BBBSCM mentoring programs attended the Fair with their mentors.

A self-described “accounting equation bisexual,” Helen Parshall serves as the Senior Communications Manager for AIDS United. She is an avid writer and passionate social justice advocate, who uses digital media to bring visibility to marginalized communities. She is a graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland and the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism, holding a master’s in journalism degree with a focus in multi-platform journalism.
Jessica has done it on her own and hit on a combination that seems to have validated her philosophy that when you have an idea go for it – even if it takes a while. The Visibility Impact Fund is dedicated to empowering bi+ people by leveraging resources to build the capacity of bi+ movements to improve the visibil… What I love about my job is building relationships and trust with families and watching babies grow into amazing kids and adolescents is easily the best part of what I do. While Jessica has gotten much of the spotlight for founding The Litas and even for what some are calling its influence on women in motorcycles, she admits to not being one who is comfortable with the attention. Faced with the possibility that the two could eventually collide, she used her experience in operations to set up the growing networks of The Litas branches so that each one had its own founder.
Born of a desire to create a network of girls that shared a common interest in motorcycles, Jessica thought the idea had wings, or maybe horns…or at least a life beyond Salt Lake. Jessica admits to not being a risk taker, and she also likes a certain degree of personal comfort. Both of which obviously go out the window when you agree to get on a bike and ride with someone or throw your leg over a scoot and call it your own. Or you get the bright idea to start a motorcycle group targeting women riders.
